Project Outline

The project involved the complete renovation of an existing family dwelling. The house is a 1970's 3 bedroom property which required modernisation to meet the requirements of modern family living. The ground floor plan was reconfigured to combine 4 spaces into 1 larger interconnected space. The kitchen and dining room at the rear were combined into one space and linked directly to the living room at the front. A full height shelving unit acted as a link between the front and rear of the house, running as it does from the window at the front to the rear doors to the garden. At first floor level, the existing bathroom was enlarged to accommodate both a bath and free standing shower unit and the 3 bedrooms were upgraded.

The following elements were completed as part of the project:
  • Thermal Insulation - Underfloor insulation was fitted together with internal composite insulation/plasterboard panels to all external walls. The attic insulation was also upgraded
  • Windows/Doors - Triple Glazed windows & doors were fitted throughout. This was a particulary important element as the windows occupied up to 80% of the wall space in some rooms.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Installations - The property was fully re-wired and a complete new heating & hot water system was installed.
  • Fuel Burning Stove - A multi fuel stove was installed in the living area as part of the project.
